The racing year has well and truly wound down in Ireland with Rathdown Molly’s victory in the Christmas Oaks the final big race of the year in Dublin.

The Marie Gilbert trained brindle landed the €7,000 decider in 28.43 having gone out of the event in the first round last year.

There might not be a lot of form to compare with but Five Alley Star’s 45.92 is the quickest run at Galway in many years and her winning distance was a shade over 20 lengths.
