Jaytee Dutch surprisingly crashed out of the third round of the Comerford Cakes Open 525 at Shelbourne Park on Saturday.

Paul Hennessy’s runner, who had clocked a flying 28.15sec last week, was the even money favourite for the last eliminator with Proud Graham, the dog he beat comfortably last week, a 2-1 chance.

However Proud Graham was soon clear and had the race won from the second turn when he went four lengths clear.

Jaytee Dutch was a clear third and was expected to close the gap but he checked in the third turn and lost his action with something possibly amiss.

Proud Graham went on to beat Razldazl Rince by three and a half lengths in 28.38sec.

Graham Holland was also on the mark with Jo Jo Fantasy, who produced a strong running performance in the second qualifier to lead at halfway and slam Milldean Puma by eight lengths in 28.76sec.

Black Alder got the better of a battle with Toolmaker Scot in the opening qualifier.

The pair came together at the opening turn before Toolmaker Scot went into a two length lead. However Black Alder came again to get up on the line and score by a short head in 28.56sec.

Juvenile Derby winner Anopheles was impressive in the third qualifier when bulleting from the boxes and eventually coming home six lengths clear of Creamery Bale in 28.52sec.
