Jimmy Wright’s flying sprinter Walshes Hill extended his winning sequence to ten at Sheffield on Tuesday night writes John Forbes.

The former Irish racer, a May 2012 son of Zero Ten and Incredible Lulu, finished runner-up in a Newcastle open on his English debut in October and hasn’t put a paw wrong since, winning six times at Sheffield and once each at Belle Vue and Newcastle.

His clock of 15.84 for the 280 metres at Owlerton on a track ten spots fast on Tuesday was his best effort yet and Wright will be hoping he can keep him on the boil for the Coral Golden Sprint, which starts at Romford at the beginning of next month.

Wright said: “Our target remains the Golden Sprint at Romford but we will trial him first to ensure that he handles the track.”
