Hall Green are looking forward to visiting Towcester with as much enthusiasm as Tottenham Hotspur going to the Nou Camp.

Craig Grove, the track’s Spurs supporting assistant racing manager is considering all his options for the BAGS/SIS Track Championship trip to Northamptonshire and advises: “Have a big bet on Towcester.”

As one of the most enthusiastic team managers is last year’s event, Craig is scouting for a Bale or a Modric, but can only see Bassongs and Huttons as he prepares for the first leg on September 9.

He said: “I have been away for a few days and have only just turned my attention to our potential team. At this stage, I don’t think it will be anywhere near as good as last year. We have a couple of elite standard possibles in Supreme Turbo and Leons Buck. In preparation for the longer distance, Trapper Kate is running better than ever over four bends. As far as the puppy races are concerned, I would be considering Letmetellyou (Angie Kibble). Dave Firmager has some very useful dogs and has offered to take part, though many of them currently do not have enough graded races to qualify.

“It is a very tough group with both Towcester and Monmore, and at this stage I would be happy with a few seconds and thirds from the first leg.”
