Proud Graham can carry the orange jacket to victory in the final of the Comerford Cakes Open 525 at Shelbourne Park on Saturday.
Graham Holland’s runner has clocked the fastest time of the past two rounds with 28.38sec and 28.10sec but those were from trap one.
However the son of Crash boasts fine early pace and can overcome his trap five draw.
Owen McKenna’s Farloe Joey looks the main threat. The Zero Ten dog clocked a cracking 28.11sec in the semi-finals last week and really powers home.
Liam Dowling’s Anopheles will attempt complete a double of the two biggest youngsters’ races after landing the Juvenile Derby at Harolds Cross in November.
The Droopys Scolari dog is the youngest in the decider and has to be respected after scoring in 28.52sec earlier in the event.
Creamery Bale has the best of the draw in trap one. Anthony Mullins’ runner has twice succumbed to Farloe Joey after leading but did record 28.34sec in the opening round.
Juvenile Derby finalist Black Adler represents one of the sponsors Peter Comerford and caught Toolmaker Scot in the second round clocking 28.56sec. He needs to lead to figure.
Robert Gleeson’s Toolmaker Scot, a 28.31sec winner earlier this year has a mountain to climb after the dead-railer drew trap six.
