Nominations for the Trainer Practitioner Director representative on the GBGB Board are now open.  This is for a period of three years from the date of election.

Current Trainer Practitioner Director, Peter Harnden, has, however, stated that he is willing to stand again.  Peter has been a Director for two previous tenures but has indicated his wish to find a successor for 2026.  To this end, subject to anyone else putting their nomination forward, he will start to have other trainers sit on the relevant committees in his place.  This includes the Welfare and Veterinary Standing Committee and the Rules Review Committee.

Commenting on his position, Peter said:

“It’s very important that the voice of trainers is heard on the GBGB Board and I look forward to continuing to represent their interests over the next few years.  I have put together an excellent team of trainers who have agreed to sit on the relevant committees and speak on behalf of licensed trainers.  I very much hope that they enjoy the role and find it fulfilling and worthwhile and will consider standing as Trainer Practitioner Director in 2026.”

Nominations for Trainer Practitioner Director role should be emailed to [email protected] or posted to the GBGB offices. A notice to this effect will appear in the next issue of the Calendar on 26th May. The closing date for nominations will be 16th June.
