The GBGB have invited tracks to submit bids to stage the 2020 and 2021 TV Trophy.
As the premier marathon distance competition in the English Calendar, GBGB wishes the TV Trophy to be maintained as a Category One event, which means putting up a minimum of £12,500 in prizemoney to stage it.
Tracks bidding must be able to guarantee a sponsor for the event and detail what coverage can be obtained for the event.
The competition should be for 18 greyhounds (reduced to 12 if necessary, where entries are insufficient).
The competition must be run over two rounds within 9 days and must be over at least eight bends and be run on or around the first two weeks of August.
Bids must be submitted to GBGB by 11am Friday 25th October.
An industry panel will consider bids and a decision will be made in late October 2019. The 2020 TV Trophy and dates will then form part of the planning process and subsequent schedule for major competitions for 2020 (published in late 2019) and 2021 (published in late 2020).
Tracks are asked to make a bid for each year separately.
Where possible the GBGB aim to see the TV Trophy moving around the country, providing opportunities for a variety of owners, trainers and greyhounds.
