Both of Towcester’s open race finals went the way of the market leaders on Tuesday night.

There had only been a length separating the three semi final winners of the Towcester Puppy Final but with Droopys Polly missing, Phil Simmonds’ British bred Bang On Giles (Kinloch Brae-Tyrur Alice, Apr 14) was made an even m0ney favourite to take the £750 first prize. He disputed the early lead with Famias Hope before kicking on for a near five length win in 28.57 (-20).

With the likely second favourite Blackrose Cloud scratched (off colour), Roswell Iceman (Shaneboy Lee-Cara Said So, Dec 13) was left to dominate the 480 standard decider.

Growing into his reputation, the 37kg Mark Wallis trained white and black disputed the early lead with kennelmate Blue Moment before stretching his advantage to a length and a quarter in 28.26 (-20); his fourth win in eight outings.
