Yarmouth may delay the closure of the East Anglian Derby by a couple of hours in order to accommodate late entries.
Assistant racing manager Ben Mannall said: “We have a trial session on Thursday and it is possible that a few of the trainers will want to see their dogs go around before making a decision. The race is due to close at midday so we are only talking about an hour or so.”
The track are pleased with interest so far in the £15,000 Totepool sponsored competition.
Mannall said: “We have had quite a bit of interest from trainers who haven’t been here before including Julie Calvert (No But) and Lisa Stephenson (Next Weeks News, Ballycowen Tom). Mark Keightley is considering Target Harris, though it seems he might have over estimated how much time he has left to trial the dog.”
The Totepool 69th East Anglian Derby gets underway next Wednesday (Sep 2) and concludes exactly two weeks later with a televised £15,000 to winner final.
