Doncaster has honoured its promise to look at prizemoney levels for its Wednesday Bags fixtures and winners will be better rewarded from tomorrow writes John Forbes.
Racing Manager Mick Smith says: “We have looked at the prizemoney across the board for the BAGS fixtures after just two meetings and I am pleased to report that there will be an improvement across the board. We don’t have a lot of A1 races on the Wednesday cards but when we do in future the winner will receive £100, an increase of £20. At the moment we are only on a trial run of 17 weeks with the betting shop service, but if that was to be extended or we were to offered additional fixtures in a future contract then we would take another look at the levels.”
Grades A2 and 3 are being boosted by £15 to £85 and £75 respectively, with winners in A4, 5 and 6 getting an extra £10 that will see them taking home £55, £50 and £45, while the top grade in the 450-metre B-level is seeing an increase of £15 to £70 and B2 and 3 will be upped by £10 to £55 and £45 with D3 also getting £45 and all other runners will receive £25.
