Curious Boy set the standard in the semi-finals of the Thurles Fresh Milk Tipperary Cup over 525 yards at Thurles on Friday.
Gerry Holian’s runner was led to the second turn by Declan Byrne’s Black Tom but he went past to eventually score by a length and a half in 28.97sec.
Lemon Miley landed the second qualifier for trainer Murt Leahy. The son of Droopys Scolari was soon in front but was challenged to the third turn by The Other Master. However he went on to beat the staying on Tynwald Rodney by half a length in 29.15sec, while The Other Master was a short head back in third.
