Aimnfire will attempt to complete a double of Poole’s big races in tonight’s £4,000 final of the Carlsberg Classic over 450 metres.
June Harvey’s runner landed the Golden Crest at the track in April and reaches tonight’s decider unbeaten in the competition.
The son of Central City clocked a rapid 26.41sec in the opening round and in last week’s semi-finals did 26.60sec.
Hayley Keightly’s Roxholme Bob will be vying or favouritism after winning his semi-final in a faster 26.50sec and has a good draw in trap six.
Local handler Jo Burridge will be hopeful of winning the contest as she is doubly represented in the final with Sky Jack and Ninja Diva.
Skyjack was beaten just a head by Roxholme Bob last week and is well-drawn in trap one, while Ninja Diva scored in the opening round in 26.54sec and was narrowly beaten last week by Aimnfire after early trouble.
