Maiden open to kick things off and HEADFORD LORD in 6 is a local runner who has trialled the last twice at Romford. Before that he’s clocked a personal best here of 29.64 which I’d expect he’s better  than now. RYLANE CLEVER in three didn’t get the best of runs here last week but he does race from off the pace which means again he’ll need the gaps but he’s probably quicker than most in here.

DROOPYS PEARL in 4 has just one win from 16 starts to his name but was favourite for an Open here last September. She’s not had much racing since so wouldn’t be top of the list while FOUR FIFTY MAX in two looks pretty quick but also pretty quirky. He might just be able to lead up here from a nice draw but will he see out this trip?

Selections – FOUR FIFTY MAX (2), RYLANE CLEVER (3), HEADFORD LORD (6)

DRUIDS BRAZONA finished third in the Silver Salver final here in July and he was able to get his head in front they should pass him. PULL THE TRIGGER in three suffered an early exit in that competition and while he’s prefer the rails himself he’s a huge threat as he traps so well. SPORTING DYNASTY is another quick enough to land this and won when last seen in the 5 box

Selections – DRUIDS BRAZONA (1), PULL THE TRIGGER (3), SPORTING DYNASTY (5)

First heat of the Maiden 480 here and I was keen on ONTHEREORLAITH last week but she bumped into one as the winner was impressive on the day. She was drawn in one but will be better suited to trap 3 here although the 4 dog is very likely to move in which is a worry. BLUE DADDY TWO in 5 would be a big player if able to lead and might get away with his draw if the 4 does indeed move in. VINEGARHILLSMILE in one has a nice draw but is better over further I feel but wouldn’t be for catching if she could lead and is a solid starter. HOME ZEDA is an early paced September 18 whelp who did win over 480m at Mullingar a couple of months ago in a decent enough time

Selections – VINEGARHILLSMILE (1), HOME ZEDA (2), OHTHEREORLAITH (3), BLUE DADDY TWO (5)

SMURFS MACHINE has a shocker last week from the traps but usually he’s more alert so he’ll be looking to make all. HOMEWARD BOUND was a big price winner in early August here but he can hold his own in this company. He’s drawn inside of two early paced runners which doesn’t make his task easy but surely looks due a good start from the traps. BULL RUN JAVA in the red jacket should get this trip but would want to slip the field which I just can’t see him doing

Selections – SMURFS MACHINE (4)

Heat 2 of the 480 Maiden and I reckon DOOLIN PRINCESS is a good thing despite probably wanting a little bit further. Traps well, shows early and stays means being drawn between two more sluggish early runners makes him very hard to see past. VELVET BOBBY has caught the eye in defeat on multiple occasions here but does it from the back although looks the only threat if the two gets any trouble early. BALLYMAC VINNY might just be good enough at this level is the two isn’t quite what I think it is

Selections – DOOLIN PRINCESS (2)

19:36 – 642M

First stayers race of the night and PEALKY NEWSBOY was beaten favourite last time out but after not leading he actually impressed me so he’s on the list and I think he’ll prefer this draw. ROSEVILLE EVA has won D3’s the last twice but clocked a decent S1 winning time at the back of last year and looks ready after injury to do herself justice

Selections – ROSEVILLE EVA (1), PEAKY NEWSBOY (3)

19:56 – 480M

Heat 3 of the 480 Maiden now and BALLYNABEE TITAN deserves another chance especially with a cracking draw between two slower starters. PARADISE PRINCE in 4 has a 23.85 to his name at Romford in a trial which shows how quick he is and again looks well drawn

Selections – BALLYNABEE TITAN (2), PARADISE PRINCE (4)

Final leg of the Win 8 here and the race comes over 6 bends. My soft spot for TINNOCK LEE has warn thin after his Romford exploits as I thought he needed further but I don’t think he ran that track well at all and while he lacks a bit of middle he might just lead this lot on a good day. BODENS JAGUAR in two runs a similar race but is probably a quicker dog so must be on the ticket too while BURGRESS VILLA in 5 would be a major player with a clear run but his style lends itself to trouble. MILLBANK MARCELA in the stripes lacks experience in good staying races but has had a spin here over 4 bends where she wasn’t disgraced and she’s been flying home at Crayford over 540M so while this isn’t easy might just be capable in a likely messy race. There doesn’t seem to be any real early pace so the early stages will be fascinating

Selections – BODENS JAGUAR (2), TINNOCK LEE (4), BURGESS VILLA (5), MILLBANK MARCELA (6)
