Captain Karnage can overcome a wide draw in the 51st Guinness Trophy Final over 525 yards at Cork on Saturday.

Kieran Lynch’s railer has performed well from wide boxes to win his three qualifying races and is selected in this wide-open decider.

Captain Karnage’s made all in round two to clock 28.67 and last week he has to come from behind to deny Carrowkeale Spike close home in the same time.

That was after his worst break of the event but anything like normal service at the traps will make him hard to beat.

Another unbeaten runner is Leanne Rooney’s Sunrise Ice.

Leanne Rooney’s runner is a real lid-pinger and really motors into the turn.

She boasts a best time of 28.64 when making all in the opening round from trap one and last week was value for winning as she had to ride an early bump before leading at the bend to clock 28.91sec.

Come Out Russell, beaten narrowly by Sunrise Ice last week, is the best drawn runner in the race.

Pat Kiely’s dog has done well from poor draws so it will be interesting what he can do from the fence.

Graigues Kaino will be the outsider as he’s yet to make his mark in the event.

He has a 28.44sec over C&D and needs to reproduce it to figure.

Kathleen Murphy’s Carrowkeale Spike has been flying under the radar. He has been within three parts of a length of 28.69sec, in all three rounds with a win and two second places and can make the frame.

If you looks back to November, Linda Bowen’s Glenbowen Diamon, third to Captain Karnage is the semi-finals, clocked a decent 28.49 here, a repeat of which would see him enter the argument.

Draw:

1 Come Out Russell

2 Graigues Kaino

3 Carrowkeal Spike

4 Sunrise Ice

5 Glenbowen Diamon

6 Captain Karnage
