Bubbly Tornado, for which the Champagne Club had high hopes, was disqualified for fighting at Hove last night in the race won by kennelmate Jaytee India.
Paul Young’s son of Definate Opinion, who was bought after clocking 28.91sec at Thurles in August, turned his head towards Teejaysblackhawk on the last turn, while Jaytee Indian took advantage to get up close home and score in a slow 30.31sec.
Old Steine finally broke his open race duck when successful in the Pie Eaters Challenge Maiden over the same 515 metres.
Doreen Walsh’s runner flew out and made all to beat Sing Song Man in 30.13sec, the fastest time of the night.
