Priceless Brandy took three spots off Droopys Nidge’s Limerick 550 track record when landing the fastest semi final of the Irish St.Leger on Saturday night.
The Paul Hennessy trained black, already the holder of the Kilkenny 525 clock, trapped in front as favourite Ballinakil Clare (T6) missed her break and then collided with her inside neighbour. The leader already had the race won when Burgess Dubh was KO’d at the first turn and eventually came home 11 lengths clear of Native Chimes in 29.26.
The first semi went to Peter Cronin’s Swithins Blue by a couple of lengths from another Hennessy runner Jaytee Dutch with Leave At Dawn taking third.
