Michael Dunne’s Kinlock Brae is the third American stud dog to head the sires charts following Sand Man and Hondo Black, and like his predecessors, he has been a fantastically versatile stud dog – as proven with his progeny’s average winning distance of 549m.

His leading open race star in 2018 was stayers Shotgun Bullet, but there was also a top hurdler in Parkers Dynamite, a decent smattering of middle distance stars including Serious Hangover and Roxholme Butt plus pure marathoner like sisters Slippy Maska and Maysdreamcatcher.

Laughil Blake is the exciting new kid on the block. The 2014 Irish Derby winning son of Brett Lee finished at joint 61 on the table last year and isn’t seven years old until March. His progeny include Geelo Blissful, Droopys Perfect, and British bred Roxhill Mystique.

Droopys Jet was Ireland’s busiest sire in 2016 and always looked capable of a high position. His leading progeny in the year was Nadurra Ross
