Romford’s owners group the RGOA have named their Dog and Bitch of the year.

Top dog was Bolshoi Booze (Kinloch Brae-Breeze Hill Juli, Sep 12), owned by Mr GMR Downes and trained by Phil Simmonds.

The early paced black has been to traps on 33 occasions since January for 13 wins and seven seconds. He has won opens over 222 and 400 metres with best times of 13.74 and 23.81.

Kennelmates Sneezys Lily (Head Bound-Fireheight Jane, Nov 12) is Bitch of the Year for owner Mr S R Green.

The black made her A1 bow in January and has ten wins (seven opens) and five seconds from her 15 Romford appearances.

Dog of the Month title for October resulted in a rare three way tie for a trio who each had four races, for two wins, a second and a third.

Two thirds of the award ended up in the Young kennel. The home bred pup Young Phoenix (Bubbly Phoenix-Millwards Rose, Apr 14) owned by the Young At Heart Syndicate, has a best of 24.82 and may be destined for further.

Kennelmate Jaytee Berlin (Scolari Me Daddy-Luminous Angel, Jan 13), owned by John Turner, clocked a career best 35.49 among his 575 metre open race wins.

The third member of the trio was Phoenix Rocky (Westmead Hawk-Baltylum Beauty, Dec 13) owned by Messrs S Bentley, D Lloyd and trainer John Simpson.

Bitch of the Month was Mr T Mumford’s Woe Annie (Ballymac Vic-Graigues Riva, Sep 13).

The Ernie Gaskin trained black landed an A1 hat-trick and clocked a career best 24.24 (+10) for the 400 metres.
