Blackstone Blitz made a highly encouraging English debut at Sunderland on Saturday.
Winner of one of his three starts in Ireland and runner-up in the final of a Kilkenny competition, this July 2013 son of Head Bound and Blackstone Skybe showed some precocious talent as he took up the running at halfway in an A1 and maintained a powerful gallop to the line where he was two and a half lengths clear of the experienced top grade racer What Will Be.
The clock for the 450 metres was a fine 27.56 and this looks like a very promising addition to trainer Yvonne Bell’s already powerful team.
