To those outside the North East, the final batch of 2019 Newcastle opens are probably of marginal interest. But for the two most powerful kennels at the track, bragging rights are definitely at stake.
Angela Harrison has already wrapped up the graded runner issue. But the title of Newcastle’s top open race kennel is still to be settled and Angela goes head-to-head with Jimmy Fenwick on Saturday with the kennels inseparable on the 22 winner mark.
Angela, with four runners, has a distinct advantage, for a meeting that features the likely swansong of the brilliant Droopys Live, who herself can seal the ‘leading open race winner’ title.
