Jaytee Dutch produced the performance of the competition in the Comerford Cakes Open 525 at Shelbourne Park on Saturday.

Paul Hennessy’s Juvenile Derby third has always looked one of the fastest in training, though often finds plenty of trouble in his races.

However he blasted out in the fourth heat of the second round and went on to score by four and a half lengths from Proud Graham in 28.15sec.

Owen McKenna’s Farloe Joey was impressive in the opening qualifier when giving a start and a three and a half length beating to Creamery Bale in 28.39sec.

McKenna had a double with Aayamza Seve in heat five when he picked up log-time leader Scary Days close home to score by a length in 28.69sec.

Mossie O’Connor’s Maglass Razzle surprisingly picked up long-time leader Toolmaker Scot in the second qualifier to score by three quarters of a length in 28.72sec.

Peter Cronin’s Milldean Puma was another strong running winner of heat three when leading off the las turn to beat the pace-making Exactly by three lengths in 28.76sec.

Ruari Dwan’s Borna Sounds rode a few early bumps in heat six before leading off the second turn to register a two length victory over Lone Scolari in 28.84sec.
