The following statement was issued by Henlow promoter Kevin Boothby today following the decision of the local planners agreeing to planning permission for the stadium site:
Today outline planning permission was agreed 7 votes to 4 for development at the stadium. This is just the start of planning procedure and realistically, racing will be still staged there for 5 -6 years. Henlow racing would like all trainers to know that we still have our lease until November 2021 and we are in negotiations to obtain a five year extension after that. We would also like to make it clear that we are heavily committed to greyhound racing and we have plans to always maintain having two stadiums, and talks are in place to achieve this going forward and if need be we will look at other sites.
