Sheffield Racing Manager Andrew Mascharenhas previews each of tonight’s nine open races with betting from Bresbet.

A reminder of the Steel City Cup first round

Tashade has won three out of seven at Monmore and ran a sprint trial that would probably grade her into D1 here so she is the selection. Freedom Alibi found trouble and was beaten by a decent dog last time here and I would expect Belle Vue Bullet to be capable of at least a 27.70 run after his trial 1-5-6

Droopys Biggy clocked an amazing trial – just outside the track record and should be quite short here, though he is obviously very inexperienced. I make it very competitive between the others but think March On Ted looks the danger. 4-2-3

I was very impressed by Skywalker Stan in his last visit and he left a lot on the track. He should give Carrowkeal Syd a decent run behind him and have him for the forecast. 2-1-5

Geelo Striker barely gets the 500 metres but looks as though he has enough in hand. Magna Boss should get a decent run in behind. 3-4-6

There are three locals in this one but I think Trickys Rocket has the most potential Harton Lara has 66 races on her card and that experience should help her get second. 5-1-4

Signet Otis is very inexperienced but it seems the kennel think a bit of him. He will be helped by the draw as I expect Fearsome Patriot to move to middle on the run-up Of the rest, maybe the five will get the next best run 1-2-5

I really struggle to separate the two, four and six in here. I’m just edging it to Forest Gold to lead all the way. Three was unlucky last time out and should improve. Candy Man deserves a bit of luck after what happened to him in the Three Steps Final. I was disappointed with Pacemaker Ted in the heats. His record shows he is a good dog, does he run the track? 2-4-6

There are three heat winners in this, which is the toughest of the semi finals. Signet Ace was my selection before the competition and I will stick with him. He didn’t come away last week but will need to do so this time because I thought Duke De Janerio ran ever so well. Don’t rule out Balterio either. He found trouble last week and ran on very well 1-2-5

I’m not sure I am in Angela Harrison’s good books after this draw. I think this is the hardest race of the night to call. I understand that there has been some decent money on Brynoffa Lloyd but I am going for Droopys Dazzler to lead all the way. 2-3-6
