Kevin boon’s runner rode a couple of early bumps before pulling clear from the third turn to beat Jimmy Nailed On by two and a half lengths in 33.49sec.
Phat Mary was one for the locals in the third qualifier. Julie Luckhurst’s bitch flew out and went on to beat Mays Musicbox in 33.67sec.
In the opening heat Kevin Cobbold’s Castlelyon Sevi made all the running to hold Diesel Denzil by a length and a quarter in 34.05sec.
