Quietly can win his first completion since his victory in the 2014 Irish Puppy Derby with victory in the Tennents Gold Cup final over 525 yards at Drumbo Park on Saturday.

Ian Reilly’s runner was beaten in the heats but came good in last week’s semi-finals when beating Golden Muzzle winner Ivy Hill Bart in 28.63sec.

The son of Tullymurry Act dog is drawn inside his main rivals and can soon be calling the shots.

Margaret Campbell’s Common Man goes into the final unbeaten after scoring in 28.83sec (-30) and 28.56sec and this local runner will have plenty of support.

The other big runner is Champion Unraced winner Shutthe Backdoor trained by Brendan Matthews.

The Derby semi-finalist is also unbeaten in the event after 29.20sec (-30) and 28.53sec successes but the railer will have to overcome a very tricky five draw.
