Second runner-up – despite hugely overinflated levels of self confidence – with one even money winner for £40 and a net loss of £20 on the night, we give you the man who put the rab into rabbit – Robert McNair.
In runner-up spot and experiencing the blue ink for only the second time in recent history – with £50 wins on an even money winner and another on a 2-1 shot, for a net profit of £150, it’s the wigmeister himself, Tony Collett.
Normally a match winning score. But not tonight! With £30 on a 4-1 winner, £50 on a even money winner and a £20 win double – all for a profit on the night of £360 – we present Belgium’s greatest export, Biiiiiiiig Patrick Janseens!

They are joined by Colin Mather who is billed as “RPGTV regular and avid form expert”. Welcome to the dogfight!

Salacres Pippy (R6 T2) Has done nothing but impress me since arriving at our kennel from John Kennedy over in Ireland. Has done everything asked of her in a professional manner , posting some excellent times in trials for a young bitch pup. This is a good race to be making your debut in but if she can come away in the same manner as she has done recently in trials then hopefully she should take command of the inside and get her UK career of to the best possible start £50 win.
Mister Brentford (R11 T6) Trialled really well here last Monday for Matt Dartnall and the Mark Burridge led Jotainthelastminute syndicate when recording 29.90 (normal) despite leaving a little time on the track, particularly around the first two bends. He can take his time down to around the 29.70 mark this evening if coming away in similar style. There is little in the way of early pace inside him barring Anna Thompson’s Drumcrow Linnet who being drawn in one against the rail shouldn’t be too much of a hazard. Linnet would rate the danger. But I’m not confident that she’ll record the time of Mister Brentford and having been on her travels to Newcastle for the last couple of weeks, she may also miss the break a little on her first run back. So I’m siding with Mister Brentford to smash out and make all £50 win

Salacres Pippy (R6 T2) I like everything about this bitch , she’s done everything right so far and I’m hoping she carries that on by winning this race £100 win.

Piemans Bill (R5 T3) A dog who has given trainer Colin Wilton and his team plenty of work since arriving here in the UK. Has ability but at 3 years of age and with just 5 races under his belt also had undoubted issues to contend with. His sole win to date came in handicap company but he can double that winning tally tonight and in the process gain his first level start victory. When Bill first trialled at Nottingham in February he did so off a weight of 29.7. His sole victory in the aforementioned handicap came off 31.0 , he has however since risen to a high of 32.0 , some 2.3 kilos above his weight when first arriving in the country. Connections must feel that was too heavy since he weighed in at 30.8 for his last trial and in the process put up what I consider his best run to date in recording (normal). It’s worth bearing in mind that the going allowances have changed at the track recently. However with the old +50 attached his run would still be a personal best here at Colwick Park. I wouldn’t mind seeing a little bit more weight off the dogs back tonight so do check the weight sheet for that. Bill went up in a 5.11 sectional in his last trial and anything like that should see him dominating the inside. There is little to no early inside him and the only early pace he has to contend with is in Burghead Franby who is drawn right on the outside in trap 6. I’d imagine Bill should turn a close enough second to Franby at worst , put that rival under pressure by the third bend and from that point home he should be on his way to his second career victory. Bill is likely to attract early support so keep an eye on the markets £100 win

Tyrap Ali (R4 T5) The new recruit from Peterborough is my best bet. She found trouble in her two runs should lead tonight and sees the trip out well £50 win.
Barrack Brave (R12 T2) An improving dog going up the grades looks like he should lead and hang on from fast finishing traps one and four £30 win.

Swift Acquit (R1 T4) Probably the most consistent early paced runner at the track. Often struggles to get home after taking the lead but probably can tonight £50 win
Novel Idea (R2 T2) Before lock down she was running in slightly better company than these. Will be running on strong and should be good enough late on £50 win
Lee Calcutt
Swift Acquit (R1 T4) I like one off the front at Yarmouth and Maurice Rice’s bitch has an abundance of early pace and can hopefully hold on in the closing phases in a close finish. £50 win
Sendinthegold (R7 T2) looks a progressive sort for Barnard kennel winning 3/5 career to-date and of clearing T1 should have the race his own.
