The RFS Puppy Derby resulted in doubles for Seamus Cahill. Liz McNair and ‘the Irish’ on Thursday night.

Fastest on the night was the home bred King Kid (Droopys Scolari-Shaws Dilemma, Dec 14). Going to traps at 2-1 to improve a Wimbledon record of 3/5, the 2-1 chance clocked 29.38, 11 spots off his personal best. Litter brother King Diego had won the previous heat in 28.85.

Bridgehouse Boy (Droopys Jet-Tommys Inluck, May 15) was the youngest dog on the card but outshone kennelmate Ballinakil Biddy in the opening heat clocking a flying 28.56. Biddy’s litter brother Newinn Shadow (Kinoloch Brae-Newinn Expert, Dec 14) was three spots slower in the following heat.

Jaytee Samurai (Romeo Recruit-Allowdale Nokia, Mar 15) rewarded sponsor John Turner with a 28.85 victory; Pat Buckley’s Killinan Lee (Brett Lee-Killinan Baby, Jan 15) was a length and a half quicker in heat four.
