Ladbrokes Puppy Derby finalist Droopys Bonucci went quicker than two ante post Star Sports Derby favourites at the final Towcester trial session before the weekend draw.
Dean Childs’ wide seed clocked 28.96 on going rated .10 slow. Bubbly Bluebird and Clares Rocket clocked 28.97 and 28.98 respectively. Bluebird was particularly interesting as his 5.12 sectional was the fastest recorded to date and he was notably slowing in the latter stages of his trial.
The withdrawals of Sidarian Padre, Hey Seamus, Farron Aston, Bestinthewest and Farfromfwesh reduced the entry to 197, just five above the optimum for the first round. Droopys Acrobat had a name change to Moments Thought. The full entry – split according to seedings – features below.
