His trainer Fraser Black was denied a double with Droopys Oddysey who failed by a short head to catch 10-1 all the way winner Shaneboy Sue, who clocked 41.93sec in heat three.

McCalmont Cup runner-up Karlow Master just lasted home in heat two to edge out Crompaun Jamesy by a short head in 42.01sec.

Chloes Gina caught long-time leader Native Hut close home in heat one to prevail by a head in 42.31sec.
