Fabulous Zita ran out the winner of the Stadium Bookmakers Maiden Trophy over 480 metres at Nottingham last night.
Dave Firmager’s bitch, who won her heat, went to traps a 7-2 chance as the money came for fastest heat winner Bog Brae, who was backed sown to 6-4.
However he failed to gain an essential early pitch on the inside and when the field bunched up going into the top bend Fabulous Zita swept around the outside to eventually beat Bleisce Charm by two and a half lengths in 29.02sec.
Bills Heartbeat reversed last week’s form with odds-on favourite Mottos Mixer to land the opening heat of the Betfred Standard over 500 metres.
Carol Evans’ runner hit the front off the opening turn and went on to beat the favourite by almost three lengths in a slick 29.76sec.
Gerry Ballentine’s El Salvador came from an unpromising position in the opening qualifier to lead close home and beat Alma Valentine by almost two lengths in 30.11sec.

In trials before racing, Harry Crapper’s Powerful Trend went quickest over 500 metres when clocking 30.08sec in a solo.
