With the Chelsea Glass backed Trainers Championship meeting just over a week away, the Young and Childs teams were put through their paces at Tuesday’s trial session at Sittingbourne.
Young would surely have been pleased with Jaytee China 28.98 (calc) and Patchys Kerry (29.05 calc) for two of the fastest times of the day over the 480m.
Droopys Ward (30.29) was quickest over the 500m course with Bubbly Gold clocking 30.48 (both -30).
There was also a very decent run over six bends with Teejayspowerhawk’s fastest of the day 40.27 (-45).
Child’s no.1 star Millwards Teddy looked a little ring rusty with a 40.80 clocking for the 642m.
There was better news over four bends: Droopys Norris clocked 29.31, Sidarian Teejay was six spots slow (both -30), Droopys Cottage looks a live contender for the bitch’s race with a 29.28 (-20) trial while puppy Droopys Roller did 29.71 on similar going.
Young’s Jaytee Hawaii and Swabys Moddy respectively clocked 16.46 and 16.49 (both -10) for the sprint.
