Keplar Nine, who survived a draw after a void heat to make the semi finals, where he was beaten by Russelena Reggie, reversed the form in the final of the SIS Doncaster Yorkshire St.Leger. The 5-1 chance, now locally attached, went from trap four . . . .
The BGBF Oaks Final saw a popular winner in the locally bred Burnfoot Dolly. The winner went from trap three with her biggest two dangers being litter sisters Tea For Tess (T2) and Thamside Bound (T4). . . .
The performance of the night though surely belonged to King Turbo in a race in honour of his sire Leamaneigh Turbo.
The November puppy who has made a dramatic return following a blip in the Produce Stakes produced a magnificent run from trap six. His winning time of 29.06 for the 483m, eclipsed the run of Droopys Buick, later on the card by two spots.
The Leger winning time was also bettered earlier in the meeting by Coolavanny Bear. One of those who missed out on the draw following the void heat, clocked 41.32, half a length quicker than Keplar Nine. It was a remarkable return to form for a dog who prior to the void race, had been KO’d in his two previous outings.
