Yarmouth have called off tonight’s meeting but want to make it clear to patrons that the cancellation is due to a burst water main, not any concerns over the weather.
Racing manager Marcus Westgate said: “We are without water after the main burst last night and we have no idea when it will be restored.
“Had it not been for that, there was no reason not to stage the meeting. We are perfectly happy that it is entirely safe for the greyhounds to race. Our issues relate to things such as food prep and toilets for the patrons.
“We have all areas of welfare covered. We had one trainer, who is based in Claction, who was concerned about travelling last night, and we duly withdrew his runners and replaced them.”
