Clares Wonder was an impressive winner of the William Hill English Derby Trial Stake over 525 yards at Shelbourne Park on Saturday.
Graham Holland’s runner blasted clear from traps and was soon clear. He eventually beat Tyrur Supermac by three and a half lengths in a fast 28.23sec.
Droopys Streak went quickest in the Healthcare & Transport Puppy Oaks over 525 yards.
Fraser Black’s bitch was soon clear and went on to beat Graham Holland’s Ballydoyle Honey by two and a half lengths in 28.47sec.
Holland had better luck with Skywalker Pearl, who was a trap to line winner of heat four, coming home four and a half lengths clear of Tarsna Danceaway in 28.61sec.
Jimmy Buckley’s Jumeirah Dance led at halfway in the penultimate qualifier to score a three and a half length victory over Play It Up in 28.77sec.
Peter Cronin’s Yasoo Perlena was soon clear in heat one to score a here and a half length victory over Rural Maui in 28.81sec.
Owen McKenna’s Airforce Duchess overcame plenty of trouble in heat three to prevail by a length and a half in 29.06sec.
Niall O’Donnell’s Two Gold Medals landed a scrappy final eliminator when leading off the second turn to beat the favourite Ballymac Shirley in 29.28sec.
