Witches Belle (Droopys Scolari-Lemon Belle, Feb) maintained her unbeaten run in the stake and clocked gain 1500pxthe fastest time in the third round of the Kirby Memorial at Limerick.

Edel Twomey’s Dunne Memorial winner rocketed clear from boxes and led by more than a length to the first bend. She easily held off Droopys Awesome by three lengths in 28.18.

Clares Rocket (Confident Rankin-Lemon Madrid, Jun 14) extended his winning sequence to five despite early traffic problems. Graham Holland’s white and black didn’t take up the running until between the first and second bends but pulled away for a seven length win in 28.32.

Droopys Roddick (Droopys Jet-Droopys Start, Apr 14) also remained unbeaten though he is still some way off his Derby favourite form. He trapped better than last week but failed to pull away and was challenged into the third bend by Jo Jo Fantasy who then checked badly. It was left to Double Oh Seven to follow home a length and a half second with Calzaghe Billy in third.

Graham Holland won his second quarter final when Riverside Chip (Knockglass Billy-Forraghmore, Apr 14) led all the way in the last heat clocking 28.48 from Maytown Eclipse (1 1/2) and Tommys Lord (2l).
