Hall Green A3 runner Ballydoyle Time (Head Bound-Dark Matter, Oct 13) produced a powerful finish to land the PCS Legal Puppy Oaks Final at Towcester.
Stuart Buckland’s white and black, who rallied from a hopeless position as the slowest semi final qualifier, again found herself in fifth place after early scrimmaging.
The £3,500 looked at the mercy of David Mullins’ Gymcrack finalist who took up the running when favourite Parkers Poison was hampered.
It was only in the final strides that Ballydoyle Time (3-1) got her nose in front, eventually winning by three quarters of a length in a calculated 28.67.
The fastest times in the event were the 28.28s (calc) recorded by Parkers Poison and Roxholme Hottie (later withdrawn in season) in the first round.
