Ben McBride’s March 2013 son of Blackstone Gene got off the mark in his fourth attempt in an A4 when leading off the second turn to clock a decent 29.42sec.
Upped one grade to A3 he was in the wars next time out when made 6-4 favourite.
However on Wednesday he produced his best performance to date in another A3 when leading early to beat Our Special One by almost five lengths in a fast 28.87sec (+20).
