Gislebertus landed his eleventh open race win of the year in the heats of the Maiden Monkey over 415 metres at Harlow on Wednesday.
Belinda Green’s runner, an 11-8 chance, led from the opening turn to beat the well-backed Whitings Gift by almost three lengths in 26.42sec (-20).
Green told the Greyhound Star: “Although he had won 10 open races this year he was eligible to run in this maiden as conditions stated that that it was for dogs that hadn’t won over further than 410 metres.
“Gislebertus is a very underrated dog, who is owned by three lads from Star Sports. He is not just a dog for small tracks like Harlow and Crayford; he has also won at Sheffield and Hove.
“Once he gets on the bunny he is very difficult to beat and this year has made the finals of the Guys & Dolls at Crayford and the Northern Sprint at Sheffield.
“We don’t have many plans for him, we’ll keep him ticking over with one-off races after next week’s final.”
Indian Trump, who had some decent form at Enniscorthy before joining Roger York, went quicker in the second qualifier.
The son of Taylors Sky took up the running on the opening turn to beat Sink The Enemy by just over three lengths in 26.25sec.
York was also on the mark with Rahyvira Hope in the Wednesday Stayers contest when he led off the second turn to repel Kathleens Katie by a head in 38.36sec.
Ballymac Maxi made it five wins from her last six races in the Wednesday Standard. Jim Daly’s bitch led at halfway to beat Knockboy Pep by almost two lengths in 26.41sec.
