There is a new name on the race cards at Nottingham after Phillip Wilson took over the training license from his grandfather Malcolm Cooper.
Cooper has been attached to the Colwick Park venue for over 25 years but decided it was time for him to take a back seat and hand over the reins to Wilson, who has gradually been taking on a bigger role in the running of the kennel over the past few years.
Nottingham’s general manager Nathan Corden said: “Malcolm has been with the track since the mid 1980’s and we’d like to thank him for his many years of service.
“It will be a seamless transfer with the dog now running in Phillip’s name and we wish him all the best for the future.”
