The withdrawal of Droopys Tamera has seen a major shake-up of the market for the Doncaster St.Leger. But there have also been significant market moves on the undercard too.

7.11 The first of the televised races has seen decent money for Puppy Classic finalist Kildallon Bolt who is now best at even money with Hills/Ladbrokes and as short as 8-11 with several others. They then bet 4-1 Blackstone Brand. Despite the price, Bolt is known to be class, the abilities of the others is still unknown.

7.26 Sue Watson’s Alpha Carinea has been cut to a best of 11-8 for the second race which is a 483m maiden. The Irish import has a 550 victory over Blue Cafu on his card but started at 25-1 in his two Irish Derby qualifiers (3rd, 5th). The better value is probably Belle Vue A1/S1 runner Aclamon Dodo who has been over course and distances and looks huge at 6-1.

7.43 It will be astonishing if Bet365 continue to dangle  bitch’s race are able to keep dangling the 9-4 about Sidarian Riva in the bitch’s race. Prior to winning three of her six races for Charlie Liser OBE, Riva had finished last in an Irish Puppy Oaks final that grows in stature by the week, including producing two Irish Derby finalists. The obvious danger is Sunderland Track Championship banker Pinpoint Miley (lots of 7-2). Locally trained Petes Peg is a former record holder over course and distance – also 7-2.

7.59 King Eden is a best priced 11-8 for what is an ‘okay’ British bred confined event. Seemingly several lengths slower than brother Kind Kid, it doesn’t look over generous. The experience Russanda Brax on the other hand can be tickled at 4-1.

8.16 Bet365 are also on a limb with Queen Asia in the Trufame British Bred Oaks final. Win or draw, it is hard to imagine the fastest heat winner being bigger than the 10-11 currently available.

donc7

8.33 Droopys Country, who was one of the top pups in training, is available at 11-10 with Hills for a ‘crash out and catch me’ 450m event. The money today has been for Elaine Parker’s Lightfoot Mikel who would take a lot of passing if trapping anywhere near his best and 7-2 is worth considering.

8.51 The 483m invitation is a cracker. It features the fastest dog over course and distance this year, Killacolla View (29.28) up against one of the fastest hounds in training in Droopys Buick, who popped around in 29.14 in a trial. On the outside is the speedy Oscar Junior. But the whole thing is thrown into confusion by the make-up of six railers. Buick has only ever run out of five on one occasion and was beaten. But he has won well from four and can surely lead up his inside neighbour. There is plenty of 4-5 available about the favourite. At 10-11, he might be worth a thought. . .doc9

9.08 The withdrawal of likely third favourite Droopys Tamera should see Rubys Rascal go to traps at around 7-4. But the inside could be very messy and the value is surely with the sole wide seed with an empty box on her inside. She has a length to find on fastest winner Madison and is 11-2 with 188 Bet.
