Millwards Katy set the standard in the heats of the Coral Brighton Belle over 515 metres at Hove.
Paul Young’s runner, a 5-1 chance blasted clear out of the traps while St Leger winner Roxholme Dream missed the kick.
Millwards Katy was game in front and went on to beat Fabulous Milan by two lengths in 29.81sec. Roxholme Dream was half a length further away.
Liz McNair’s King Danni (7-4) recovered from early trouble in heat two to come through at the last turn and beat Farloe Lara by almost two lengths in 30.23sec.
Jason Heath’s Tolpuddle Mist (5-1) led early in a trouble marred heat three to beat Hearthill Fairy by half a length in 30.40sec.
Paul Young’s Jaytee India (3-1) came late in the last qualifier to nail early leader Swift Kidman by a neck in 30.24sec.
