With the Eclipse at Nottingham in opposition, and more runners lost to the previous night’s British Bred Derby, it is a decent, if unexceptional undercard.
However, there is plenty of variety to include hurdle and veterans races, while the feature event – semis on Saturday – should still make for a very worthy finale.
