GREYHOUND TRADER STAKES GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH

The Greyhound Trader Stakes continues to go from strength to strength and is a competition firmly placed in the notebooks of the connections of greyhounds purchased through the successful sales company set up by father and son team Nathan and James Corden.

The winner of the competition will receive £2500 whilst the vendor of the successful greyhound will benefit to the tune of £500.  Getwiththetimes ran out the winner of the inaugural running of the final back in 2021 whilst Antigua Sugar for Mark Wallis and Savana Top Cat for Chris Hamblin emerged victorious in 2022 and 2023 respectively.  Savana Top Cat of course lines up in this years final and will aim to follow up his victory from last year for owner and Towcester track promoter Kevin Boothby.

 

The final is a really competitive affair with each of the six runners able to lay claim to victory and that includes the greyhound with the cheapest purchase price of them all Salacres Blake who traded hands between vendor Townview Kennels / Brendan Matthews and owner / trainer Peter Harnden for just £1300.  Townview Kennels of course have supplied the winner of this event in both 2021 and 2022.

 

 

Each of the finalists barring Savana Top Cat traded at way below £5000 highlighting that there are plenty of bargains to be had.
