Mark Wallis is mounting a strong counter attack after losing his Trainers Championship crown to Patrick Janssens in 2020.
The Lakenheath trainer is 45 points clear of Ernie Gaskin following his first Cat One win of the year with Antigua Romeo in the Essex Vase (Cat 1 wins are worth 50 points).
The top five are all represented in Saturday’s Blue Riband Final at Towcester.
