2014 English Derby semi finalist Blackrose Vic celebrated his return to the graded ranks by landing the £5,000 Westmead Hawk Memorial at Henlow.
Eric Cantillon’s black, who only recently returned to Lower Stondon following a spell at Towcester, was led up by Savana Graham but took up the running at halfway and eventually finished four clear of favourite Westmead Alexis.
It was a good night for trainer Cantillon who also landed a graded sweepstake with Blackrose Master and a heat of a 428 metre competition with Blackrose Amber.
