Four things we learned from the Jay & Kay Coach Tours Kent St.Leger first round at Crayford.
1) Stardom is the one they all have to beat. The course and distance record holder clocked the fastest time of the round and looks well capable of adding to her Golden Jacket win.
2) The Roxholme girls will be big players. Dolly showed spectacular early pace to go seven spots under Brinkleys Poet’s 380m track record in a 22.68 sectional. Although she laboured later, she would appear to have a big career over a shorter six bends. Poppy is back – and looks as good as ever. Although slightly misjudging the first bend, she looks the most likely challenger to Stardom
3) Girls rule. None of the major players were eliminated and the first round was dominated by the females.
4) You don’t want to be in the first semi final – doubly so if you are Kevin Boon.
