Turning the Pace rolled back the years to land a kennel sweepstake over 640 metres at Poole last week.

Phil Chatfield’s December 09 daughter of Royal Impact was the 13-2 outsider for her heat, which she won in 39.98sec.

In the final she looked to have it all to do from trap five but she made the bend in front and went on to hold the late challenge of High Darragh in 39.90sec.

David Marchant’s Tyrur Ashleigh is the one to beat over six bends at the Dorset track after a recent romp in a S1.

The daughter of Makeshift pulled clear from the third turn to come home over eight lengths clear of Cashen Sarah in 39.31sec.

Over the standard trip Boozed Daddy and Game Lauren are both proving difficult to beat in recent weeks.

Alma Keppie’s Boozed Daddy has won his last three A1 races at the track and boasts a best time of 26.82sec.

John Cheshire’s Game Lauren has hit a real purple patch and has won A3, A2 and an A1 last week in 26.90sec. There could be more to come as she improves following a seasonal break.
