Sidarian Vega was again the standard setter in the second round of the GMHD Insurances Juvenile Classic over 525 yards at Tralee on Friday.
Graham Holland’s runner passed the pace-making Trionas Trust at the third turn to register a five and a half length victory over Ballymac Matt in 28.54sec.
It was a mixed night for Owen McKenna who saw his Farloe Rumble impress again in heat two while Go Django was surprisingly eliminated from the competition in heat three.
Faroe Rumble was only moderately away but got a lovely run through behind the leader Aguasantas. He took the lead at the third turn to eventually beat Coolavanny Slip by two and a half lengths in 28.56sec.
Go Django was 4-7 to take heat three but broke slowly and was knocked over at the third turn while in a qualifying spot.
Meanwhile 8-1 shot John Franklin’s Clondoty Alex was out in front and went on to beat Hovex Prince by four lengths in 28.7sec.
Tynwald Rooney, owned by Nottingham promoter Terry Corden and trained by Peter Cronin landed the opening heat. The son of Godsend led from the third turn to score a length and a half victory over Yahoo Perlena in 29.00sec.
