Two sons of Westmead Hawk dominated a fascinating trial session at Wimbledon.
Fastest on the clock with a 28.21 run was Droopys Nidge, now trained by Matt Dartnall. A winner of 10 of his 16 races in Ireland, the Limerick 550 track record holder was just two spots quicker than Graham Holland’s Gaytime Hawk – recent winner of a Derby trialstake at Cork.
Boyneside Fun (28.37) was the quickest of Charlie Lister’s trialists while last year’s runner-up Droopys Ward recorded 28.44.
Over the sprint, Roxholme Ted was a length outside the Skate On’s 15.82 track record, while the lady herself went around in 16.20.
