We gave the boys the big build-up on Friday. Oops. Possibly the worst night since all this started.
We won’t talk about the losses, we’ll concentrate on the wins. It won’t take long. At Nottingham, of the six selections there was one winner, and four seconds. So step forward Don Henley (not the American singer) with £70 @ 10-11 on Plaza Beauty for a profit of £33.64.
At Romford Billy Brennan‘s big fancy Dapper Sue was KO’d at the first bend, while Jason Gander‘s £70 selection Aero Wolves sadly went lame and was beaten a distance. A sad story.
Tonight there are some new faces from HOVE plus our most consistent winning group of tipsters to date – SHEFFIELD
HOVE
A first appearance on the chart for Hove and a head-to-head with breeder and owner Peter Walker taking on fellow judge Ryan Conneely.

Peter Walker:
Most of you may know I calculate my own greyhound race ratings mainly on the open racing scene but now I am analysing Hove’s graded race meeting on Saturday evening. Although Hove is a fair and consistent track, it’s a tricky card on paper so probably prudent to avoid going ‘all in’ on one selection. Bearing that in mind and without prior knowledge of any odds at this stage, I’ve spread the fictional stake between two runners.
Belinda Green’s well drawn bitch Ballymac Rosino (R9, T4) showed an improved performance very recently following a double upgrade after a move from Crayford. She seems suited to the track and capable of winning this graded A6 with a fairly decent break. £50 win.
In the penultimate race, Wendy Short’s veteran Swift Edgar (R11, T6) has been downgraded and must have a good chance of taking this although does need to clear the other wide runner on his inside to dominate. He ran commendably at A3 level only a few months ago and this is an A5. £50 win.
Ryan Conneely:
Redeye Lightning (R7 T5) Was well backed last week but after a moderate break found trouble at the first bend but shown enough to suggest with a clearer run will go close in this grade. £30 win
Sanctuary Queen (R10 T2 ) Completely fluffed the start last week when odds on but anything close to a level break will see this bitch turn the first bend in front and that will be that. £30 win
Alanas Roddick (R12 T4) Made her debut last week and found trouble immediately with crowding on the run-up. From then on though she shown that she will not be in A8 for long. Has been given a friendly draw with not much early pace on her outside and I expect her to turn in a pitch and be ahead off the last bend. £40 win
SHEFFIELD
This trio have been consistently the best since we kicked off just under a fortnight ago, but the brutal team captain Carl Perry has put everyone under pressure by threatening to replace the least successful member with relegation for next week.

After a good study looks a card full off good things I’ll put up the three main fancies but could have gone with double that. (3 that made the shortlist but missed the cut were: Swift Model, Sonic Stormi, Worsboro Cookie)
